Sphagnum Moss — Field Experiment Ordering

Sphagnum Moss — Field Experiment Design

GED Science Practice — Ordering a Scientific Investigation

Sphagnum mosses are commonly found in peatlands — waterlogged, acidic, anaerobic environments. These mosses decrease water pH, making peatlands more acidic. Some plant species cannot tolerate acidic water.

Hypothesis: As water acidity increases, the population of Sphagnum moss increases and populations of other plant species decrease.

Your task: A field experiment must be designed to test this hypothesis. Drag each step from the right panel into the correct numbered slot on the left. Once all slots are filled, click Check my answers to see instant feedback on every step.
