Social Studies Evaluation
The Social Studies Evaluation measures a student’s ability to understand historical events,
interpret civic and government information, analyze maps and data, and think critically about real-world issues.
Students will read passages, review charts or graphs, and answer questions that reflect GED-level expectations.
This evaluation focuses on:
- Civics & Government — understanding how government works, rights and responsibilities, and public policy
- U.S. History — key events, documents, and historical developments
- Geography & the World — interpreting maps, regions, cultures, and global relationships
- Economics — understanding basic economic concepts, graphs, and decision-making
- Evidence-Based Reasoning — analyzing sources to evaluate claims or conclusions
The goal of the Social Studies Evaluation is to determine whether students can interpret information, understand
major social studies themes, and apply critical thinking — skills needed to succeed on the official GED Social Studies test.
